Sawyer's First Birthday

I've been putting off posting Sawyer's first birthday pics because with my new camera, it takes FOREVER to upload pics on here so I've done collages instead.

I'll let the pics do the talking for the most part!

I will say we had a great time celebrating our sweet, sweet, precious (and did I say sweet?) little man! We can hardly believe it's already been 1 year and despite the ups and downs of the year, this little man has been a saving grace to me. He has brought me nothing but pure joy and happiness and any time I was down, he brought a smile to my face and I would be reminded how worth it, its all been!

Birthday Morning (he only got cookie crisp cereal for his birthday and to go along with the theme)

Sweet O Family

Sawyer, just when I think the love in my heart is already so big, you come along and magnify that love in a way that feels explosive at times. You are SO precious to me. We are bonded in a way that's inexplicable. I love you more then I thought I could. You are so sweet and your nature makes me feel warm and fuzzy. When you throw your arms around me and nuzzle your face against my chest, I can hardly stand it. I can't wait to see what kind of little guy you will be! You have blessed this family in a way that is truly divine. You were exactly what we needed and I am still on cloud 9 about having you, my second son. Your cuteness is beyond adorable and I love you forever and always, just in case you ever wonder. My guy! Happy first birthday BEAUS!!! Love, Mommy

Personality

I love the idea of interviewing my kids at various stages. Obviously this is what I attempted in these videos but Ems wanted to play instead (who can blame her?) and when it was Hayden's turn, I didn't have the best questions. Ha!

When I asked him who his best friend was I was thinking he would say Daddy b/c the two of them have been exchanging notes all week with drawings of trucks or maps that say "you are my best buddy!" Maybe I should have asked who his best 'buddy' was instead of 'friend'? He does love his preschool friends a lot too though!

I am in love with the movie "The Help," and repeatedly say to Ems the line "You are kind. You are smart. And you are important!" Love that. And what I love more is her repeating it back. :)

I think it's too sweet that Sawyer can be caught walking in both of these videos! :) I tried to get him to show off his tricks too but he was busy playing as well. You'll have to excuse my voice and my ADD with taking video, it appears I bounce all over the place. Oh well!

I thought these videos gave a few glimpses of their sweet personalities. Like when Emerson wanted to rough house with Hayden in his video!

Enjoy!

Sawyer Nears 1

My sweet baby boy is turning 1 in 9 short days!

I am having fun planning his vintage milk and cookies party. But, I'm also feeling a little sad about my baby turning 1.

Last night we heard him crying in his bed around 10 and I jumped at the chance to bring him into our room for some Mommy & Daddy snuggles. He has a terrible cold so he needs the extra love. And we just watched him lay on me. I am in love with his perfect little feet, his big starfish hands, that round little belly, his full head of blonde hair, his ginormous smile, those top teeth peeking through, his baby breath, open mouth kisses, and every single ounce of him. Kris and I are smitten with this little guy. His personality is THE SWEETEST you ever did know. His smile lights up a room. And, he's turning 1.

While I'm so thankful for a healthy first year, it means my baby is getting bigger. Of course there is always excitement over that too. There are some fun things to look forward to as he gets a bit bigger and more equipped to do things with his brother and sister. I'm also excited to see what kind of toddler he'll be. Will he go crazy in his 2's and shock us all? Will he still be as happy and relaxed as he his now? His looks have already changed so much, will they keep changing? So, it's definitely bittersweet and I relish in EACH moment with him in what's left of his baby days.

In even crazier news, he's taking steps now! His brother and sister will walk him all over the house. It's like a little O kid train. Sometimes they go fast and Sawyer tries to keep up and it's too funny. But, he's walking. Not full blown but he'll be there soon I imagine.

On a different note, Hayden made this 'note' as he called it for Dad this morning. It was too cute not to share. Boys and their Daddy's. I adore that Hayden loves his Daddy SO much! I don't take them having a father for granted one bit! I know what me and my brother missed and I feel blessed that they have theirs.
