10 Days

10 days and counting....

Today was the last day of school for the kids. I plan to enjoy the kiddos and take the time to make sure they are continuing to understand the reason for the season until the big day! I'm very excited to share this time with all my babies and to switch gears from wrapping up our preschool affairs to some sweet family time. We still have so much to do and fun to be enjoyed!

I am IN LOVE with this song:
Little Drummer Boy

I think it depicts the Christmas story so perfectly and it gives me chills every time I hear it. As weird as it sounds the song really allows me to feel and imagine that time of Jesus's birth. I can almost envision the night and what it would have been like to be there. I love it soooo much! This is Sheree (she's on the worship team at church) singing it along with the Austin High School drumline last week at Church and it was ahhhhmazing! RPC was nothing short of perfection this past weekend. Our dear friends Mike and Brynn joined us and fell in love, too. Makes me happy!

We have been supa busy this week. We had to get our pen pal packages mailed, 9 teacher gifts, and 30 student gifts. This all equals a lot of errands and assembling. I love it though. It's crazy how much I get out of doing things like this. I seriously cherish this preschool so much. The kids had their Christmas parties today with their friends and we had fun looking through all of their Christmas crafts, Santa pictures, and various other goodies when we got home. Hayden made the best nativity set complete with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus. So cute. Emerson made the sweetest baby Jesus, too. They also got their Santa letters in the mail today and we enjoyed hearing what Santa had to say!

Pen Pal gifts

Assembling student gifts

Teacher gifts (a whopping 3.19 a piece! score, especially since there were to 9 to give between the two kids!)

Earlier this week we went to Oh La La to have cupcakes with Grandma and we enjoyed that time with her very much!

Sawyer has been my little sickling this week and we have felt so bad for him! I snapped these pictures of him in the grass yesterday. He didn't know what to think. I think you can see in his eyes he's not feeling well. He's still super adorable though.

I made these candy canes from Pinterest in hopes of giving them as treats at school but the chocolate softens and gets messy so quickly once out of the fridge. And, with it being a cool (yea right!?) and humid 80 degrees today (super ugh), it just didn't work. But, they were easy and pretty cute!

This is how the kids found Bruce this morning. We've run out of places to put him so it's time to get creative and Pinterest helps! Bruce is about to have some fun!

You can see Kris concentrating hard on his paper work in the background. I give him the credit for assembling this display!

So, I sent out our Christmas cards last week after scrutinizing them for errors. I double checked when I created them and even before I mailed them (would have been too late then but I still checked). I even read each word and scanned for errors. Just the other day I picked one up and it stood out to me like a sore thumb that I forgot the "r" in "wonderful". Aye, aye, aye. I have no idea how I didn't notice this before! Actually, I think I read an article once where people were still able to read words with several, even most, of the letters missing. I think that must be the reason. I seriously never noticed. What can you do? Sigh. Oh well, they still came out cute. :)
