Life Lately

We have been busy, busy lately and this post is going to be as random as it comes and full of O family happenings! Where to even begin? I guess with the most recent thing we've been up to and that's a visit from Tio Milton. Let me just say, I love having him in town. I get constant company and adult interaction, someone who likes to talk just as much as I do, and our days are jam packed with fun. And Hayden loves spending time with Tio Milton! It's always a great time and I'll continue to try to convince him to live here. Seriously, there is something about being with family!!!

It was pretty cool too b/c Milton got to be here for the kid's Christmas performance. I'm so happy that H and Ems performed in the same program! Hayden was a shepard and did so good with his line. Emerson sang twinkle twinkle Christmas star with her class. Most of the time she had her finger in her nose. LOL. Yes, she was that girl. My funny lil princess! We got to enjoy cookies and lemonade in the classroom with the kids afterwards and that was nice. I have cute video of them on stage.

We had a wonderful Elf on the Shelf reveal party last week. I got the idea from a blog I follow and thought it would be the perfect way to surprise the kid's with our first elf. I surprised them with the party after school. It came out super cute and the kids loved it! It was a great memory. The kids enjoyed the presents the elf brought them, the festive snacks, the story of the elf that I read and then watching the movie. It was an elfalicious afternoon! Hayden loves finding Bruce every morning and can't wait to show me where he ends up each day. You are SUCH a mom when you jolt out of bed at 5 AM each morning in a panic b/c you forgot to move Bruce and then you stumble around in the dark trying to get those creative juices flowing on where he should end up next!

Before our elf on the shelf party we enjoyed getting our Christmas tree on a cold evening and decorating! Seeing the 5 stockings hung make me realize how big our not so little family is!

This past weekend we had a very low key, fun family filled weekend. I needed that and it was enjoyed by all. Saturday we went for a two hour bike ride at Terry Hershey park with a pit stop at the park on Memorial. Afterwards we ate at Lupe Tortilla and then that evening we bathed the kids and got them in jammies, Kris made them hot chocolate and we went to see the cottage charm house in Katy (Christmas lights that flash to music on the radio in your car). We loved the house like that in Pecan Grove last year! The next day RPC kicked off their Christmas series and it was perfect as ususal!

Last Friday I met up with Donna Marie to take the kids to see Puss in Boots. It was SO cute! I love going to the movies with the kids and they both did so good. My Mom kept Sawyer for me. We rode the carousel and played at the arcade afterwards.

And, as not to overlook Thanksgiving... we had a wonderful turkey day! We spent the day with Don and Marie and Donna Marie at Don and Marie's house (that's a mouthful) and we drank wine, ate, talked, enjoyed outside and played wii and it was a fun time! We have SO much to be thankful for that I would need an entire post just for that.

I have SO many updates on the kids. Emerson is potty trained, Sawyer is cutting his top two teeth and he just cut another bottom one. Much more to come on the kids.

What a busy time of year. Our Christmas cards are going in the mail tomorrow. We've finished all of our shopping for the kids with the exception of one thing for H and a few stocking stuffers. Our weekends continue to be packed and Christmas will be here before we know it!

I have been loving the colder weather this week, too!
